Magazine~~

It seems like ages since I last posted something on this blog. Well, thanks to an assignment called "Class Magazine". . . . . .

Apparently, I have the look of the editor... during the election, my classmates seems to vote me without any habitations ~~ my, what a surprise~~ 

Before I knew what hit me, I was dragged in to piles of work...

In order to produce a high quality magazine, I simply HAD to rewrite my classmates' articles.

While from what I have heard from other fellow editors, they had simply rejected the articles and ask the authors to rewrite it...=.='''

Luckily, my partner(oh I forgot, there are TWO editors in our class, while other class has ONE editor and ONE manager...this means that both of us is doing multitasking instead of specializing like others), Priscilla, has a car...and, of course, she is a qualified driver...has lots of contacts(with publishers and tourism office) and is not easily frustrated by my attitude(I always say : Anything will do... but in the end, I end up rewriting most of the articles I am editing . . .) 

Of course, I mustn't forget my dear graphic designer, Hugh. who dump in tonnes of effort to get this assignment done on time. After I edited (ahemm....rewrite...ahem...)the articles, he has to edit them...

Best of all, I only edited half while Priscilla edited another half (she has MUET qualifications so she needn't rewrite everything to get things right), whereas Hugh has to design all of it + the front and back covers + content page....... hahaha 'm such a genius when it comes to escaping jobs~~~

Well, at last, our magazine was published yesterday. . . 

The teacher says its nice. . .

The teacher doesn't notice I've substituted Alvin's face with Jiafen's photo (search for them in Facebook, you'll laugh your heads off!!!) because I can't find Alvin's face in my computer. . . and did not know he plays Facebook until today. . . .

Anyway, it is done. . . 

Oh did I mention our trip to Kubah??

That was the best trip ever!!!

We planned the trip in 4 days flat--

On the 5th day we were already departing to Kubah~~

University life episode 4----- >_< ----Physics at Godspeed

Physics.

I admit, it is one of my favorite subject.....

Ummm...... can anyone tell me how difficult is Form 6 physics???

Why? My lecturer just told me this morning that we will be studying the same things as form 6 physics.....

For The Almighty's sake!!! We are even using Form 6 Oxford fajar reference book as our course book...

Of course, he ask us to change all the g=9.8 to g=10.....

Why? Simple. The gravitational acceleration here at Swinburne is larger...

Again, Why? Look at the definition of gravity....Gravity is the attractive force between masses.....

well, Swinburne does have more mass than any secondary school here.......got it? mass.....

Anyway, the situation here goes like this:

We need to complete the whole form 6 physics within less than 1 year....

How? by having classes till night!!!

How is that possible?? Easy... Foundation students doesn't take hard subjects like Chemistry or Pengajian Am.... We concentrate on Physics.... each lecture is about 2 hours...... ....

Ok...... Today I am typing this during my IT lecture.....
As a matter of fact, my lecturer is talking about blogs just now.
Alright...... Now that my university life is stabilized......
Assignments is starting to come......
oh well, I guess I'll just have to finish them on time....
The one BIG different thing between Secondary school assignments(projects) and our university assignments IS.......
NO PLAGIARISM!!!
It means that we could no longer copy article that are found on Google......
We need to record every single references that we make i.e. Oxford Dictionary, Edition 3, pg 12 line 5 
We could no longer copy pictures from Google and paste it into our assignment......
and blah blah blah .........
in short, no more freedom......bound to the International Copyright  Law.......

Anyway, lets continue from my last post.....
Why have I suddenly found myself thrown into a world of endless assignments and projects???
Aha!!! Heres what really happened......
On FRIDAY......everything is still fun and games......
UNTIL...... My mom decided to bring me to Swinburne to get a LETTER of acceptance......
THEN, the nice LADY on the counter told me, : "Today is the LAST day for late enrollment..."
It turns out, the ORIENTATION has already started.....\
SO, after a brief call to dad, a green light from him and an OK from my mom,
I found myself thrown, (I'm still confused at that point.....) into this world of University Life....
I started a 3 day Orientation (starting from the second I enrolled)
Attended a Football Match (Which we lose, by 20-1 UKS 20, We, 1) as supporter......
then start class.....
OMG!!!!
The assignments!!!!!
As if the lecturers din't know I have classes till 9 p.m. on some days of the week......
By the way, just to let you readers know..... I do have class till 9p.m. depending on subject....
Aduh!!!!

University

For those who are wondering what took me so long to update my blog, I'll have to tell you this : Lots of things can happen in a period of a day. Before I knew it, here I am, at Swinburne University of Technology, sitting on the chair, waiting for my lecturer.....Oh!!! there he is ...... well got to go!!!

Doomsday??

This is one of the few Facebook post that caught my attention....
Doomsday? I thought that was suppose to happen at 2012....
Hmmm.... the date seems familiar though.......
Now, where have I seen that date before.......
Aha!!! 11th of March is the day our (2009 SPM Candidate's) SPM results are announced!!!!
To me, that is a good news AND a bad news

The good news is, I can finally get my results and further my studies...
The bad news is, goodbye to the long holidays........goodbye to watching TV every single day.......
goodbye to no stress...... goodbye to unlimited time for games......

Honestly, I am very anxious to get my results....
I think i performed quite well in most of the papers
except, well....the Accounting paper....
I have to admit, Accounts is not one of my fortes...
Although I am able to maintain an A+ for my account during the trials,
i'm not so sure about SPM......
The SPM paper's format seems so different from the trial papers.......

Anyway, I will still thank God for whatever results He gave me.....

Sudden Attack

Walking softly, I stalked the enemy. When the time is right, I bombard him with my A.K 47. Tatatataatataatatatataatatat (sound effect) Before I knew it, "fire in the hole" and BOOM!!!! I'm dead.....
That is what happened when I played Sudden Attack SEA last Sunday...... What a disappointment..
Anyway, I did have fun during the Chinese New Year.... I went visiting with friends.....note: Check out my facebook.....My friends uploaded the photo there.....
Also, I had fun time teasing my youngest brother. He is determined not to let his friends know his Christian name. So, I had a fun time telling everyone his new name.......lol

Windows 7 Mania

Due to my failure to obtain an original copy of windows 7, I decided to customize the look of my windows vista to look like windows se7en......

Haha......... took me quite a lot of time.... in fact, it took me 2 days to get it right.

It's bye bye to the year of the Ox and Hello, Ang Pao, New Year Cakes, an abundance of food and drinks!!! Oh did I forgot about the Tiger??, ha ha...

Another BANG!!!! when I was observing a game of chess during the second day of Chinese new year...... "it sounds like a M16", commented my friend, Daniel, who went to the National Service..... well, I get the idea....

Then, POM!!! a bright symphony of light, sound and explosion erupted bear my house...Ah..., what a sight to behold.... oh well, i suppose it was fun watching money burn.........haha

End of the World.
My Kaspersky Antivirus died yesterday. 30 days ago, it was diagnosed with some kind of virtual disease called "Trial Version". As a result, it only has 30 days to live in my computer..... What a poor, poor thing...
I imagined my Kaspersky Antivirus as a virtual Jackie Chan, fighting the virus with its Kung Fu!!! Now, I would have to live with Avira.... At least it's free... A giant umbrella may not be as strong as Jackie Chan, but at least it protects my laptop....

Pixel Mania, Piano Mania, Astro Mania ... in short, I'm a Maniac

Strange... How could something so 'pixel-like' catch my attention? My destiny has been decided. There is no change to that. The fact is, I am the best Pixel Ranger player among my friends.... How cool is that!!!! (Cool as in among computer geeks....) Nothing more. I am the best Pixel Ranger player among my friends. Period.

Nevertheless, I spent countless hours playing computer games until my hands hurts. Wait, thats not right! there's something else that makes my hand hurt! The Piano!!! Okay.... I've been following my teachers instruction by practicing my scales and pieces...for the piano exams. Additionally, I've been practicing, Jay Chou's "Ching Tian"  for leisure.... What makes my hand hurt is the 'finger jumping' you need to do for the left hand part..... well, no complains... at least I can play the piece now.

Ok, remember what I said about watching Astro? Now, theres a new problem... my little brother. His favorite show seems to clash exactly with every show I wanted to see.... What happened? I got a few scratches from him, he got a pinch and the remote......Physically, I am stronger....but he wins! why? He cried!!! thats just damn annoying.... so now, I'm stuck with worthless kid shows... I couldn't even watch Ben-Ten.... its not childish enough for him..... haiz

Astro and me

Astro, the satellite TV provider, provides a wide range of TV programs..... Haiz, how I wish I could juz sit on the couch the whole day---and become a couch potato.

Well, the time I spent online and blogging has now decreased significantly due to Astro, I just couldn't get away from the TV!!!! first, Mythbuster on discovery channel, then, K.O. Sanguo on SHX then.....so much more!!!
I hope time would just stand still for me so that I can enjoy my TV..... Wait!! thats not right! if time stands still, how can I watch the TV????

After my SPM, I've finally got something to do...
My cousin had been kind enough to give me her Chemistry notes(form 6), a nice reading material for me.
So now, my time is filled with something more to do -- reading.
Form 6 chemistry is not as hard as it sounds though...or maybe its because I'm reading the first chapter....
Anyway...
lets move on... apart from that,
I've been reading a few novels on my on.....
I'm surprised at my own reading speed--5 novels in 6 days.. can you believe it??
I'm sure you won't. This is what I do.....
Reading while online, reading while eating, reading in the car, before bed, while watching TV.....
you'll get the idea... for now, I've completed 'Death match' by Lincoln Child, 'Beneath the bleeding' by Val McDermid, 'Artemis Fowl and the lost colony','Artemis fowl and the arctic incident' and 'Artemis Fowl and the eternity cube' by Eoin  Colfer they are written in a series! I couldn't resist.. Yoou know what I mean?

Next, TV
one of my post SPM favourite show is the Masked Rider Kabuto and Masked Rider den-O series....
the series is aired on ntv7 every sunday. I'm actually looking foward to watching Masked Rider KiVa --the one with those vampires but the aired Den-o first... guess I'll have to make do with what the put up....
Some might say that the Masked Rider is for children... True! but one cannot ignore the literature value of the series. For instance, Masked Rider Den-O is created based on ancient Japanese myths such as Momotaro and Kintaro  the peach boy and golden boy of the japanese legend. Even the weapons of the masked rider are designed according to the legends.

The Melacholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is an anime that caught my interest. the storyline of this anime revolves around Haruhi, a girl who supposingly created the world out of her will. the story is too complex to be narrated... you can only understand it after you have watched the whole series. To make things short, I can tell you the character consists of an ESP, alien, time traveler, Haruhi, a normal boy and other miscellaneous characters....

What is yu gi oh?

Yu-Gi-Oh! (遊☆戯☆王 Yūgiō^?, lit. "Game King") is a Japanese manga created by Kazuki Takahashi. It has spawned a franchise that includes multiple anime shows, a trading card game and numerous video games. Most of the incarnations of the franchise involve the fictional trading card game called Duel Monsters (originally known as Magic & Wizards), where each player uses cards to "duel" each other in a mock battle of fantasy "monsters". The Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game is the real world counterpart to this fictional game on which it is loosely based.

Yu-Gi-Oh! tells the tale of Yugi Mutou, a shorter-than-average high school student who was given the fragmented pieces of an ancient Egyptianartifact, the Millennium Puzzle, by his grandfather. Upon reassembling the Puzzle, he is possessed by another personality who is later revealed to be the spirit of a 3,000-year-old Pharaoh (5,000-years-old in the English anime) called Atem, with no memory of his own time. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX is set 10 years after the first series. Jaden (who receives low marks in his admission tests), is placed in the Slifer Red dormitory (Osiris Red), which is reserved for students with the lowest grades. The story goes on as Jaden faces challenges from different students in Duel Academy. He later finds himself entangled in a conflict related to the hidden secrets of the academy.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds is set in a distant future where the residents of the poverty-stricken town called Satellite provide the manpower to sustain a utopia called New Domino City (Neo Domino City in the Japanese version), a futuristic version of the city of Domino where some of the events of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! took place. The story centers around five characters known as Signers, who have birthmarks bearing one part of a monster called the Crimson Dragon (which saved the world in the past,from the Earthbound Immortals). The main character, named Yusei Fudo, is a Signer. Each Signer has a dragon monster. In later episodes, they fight Dark Signers—duelists who try to revive the Earthbound cards.

The early chapters of Yu-Gi-Oh! feature a variety of different games; but from the Duelist Kingdom arc onwards, the focus is shifted to a card game called Duel Monsters. Duel Monsters is played using a holographic image system created by Seto Kaiba (following his first Shadow Game with Yugi). In the manga and first series anime, these were initially performed on tables, using holographic tubes, while the second series anime uses huge holographic fields. Whether it is fiction or non-fiction....haha

This is a trap card. Which means it is activated to trap your opponent

Take note of the infinity symbol after the word "Trap Card"(the toppled 8)

This means that this card is an continuous trap card.

e.g. the effect continues until the end of game, not just one turn.

Therefore, the user has to use this card wisely.

As a tribute to my hometown, Malaysia, I've design this card based on a photo of petronas twin tower that I took on my last trip to KL......

The effects are simple, but not the photography techniques.....

This card is a monster card with a human face haha

the attribute is divine and has high attack and defend capability.

Definitely a must-have in any card collector's deck.

Furthermore, the "human face" is actually a CGed image of my face haha. 

January life

You guys out there might be wondering what took me so long to write another post. Well, I can tell you guys that I am a busy guy...
Well, this is how I spent my week...

First, I have been busy practicing my piano. Maybe my teacher is right, I practice too much on exam pieces and too little on scales..(especially the melodic minors.... too negative haha). So, practice, practice and practice....

Then, I have driving lessons. To tell the truth, I really enjoyed those. You can feel the car controlled by you, submitting to your will.... haha Vroom! Vroom!!

Next, of course, helping my brother.....
the most tiring job of all....  He would just yell my name and I would need to help him with his work.....
With dimensional calculus and advanced algebra in my head, I would try to help him with his simple math like
"what is 325+56?" he asked
"381" I answered, after doing the math in my head.
"how to prove it?"
"use your calculator lah!"...I am getting impatient there.
"No, I mean how to PROVE it" swt!!!
"what do you mean, PROVE?"
"prove it lah!"
"Why do you need to prove? My answers are always correct!!" I'm starting to get angry there...
"The teacher ask us to prove bah!!!!"

Driving Test

Seriously, driving can't be too hard right?

Easy? Think again!
First, You need to memorize 500 repetitive questions about traffic law... then, they test you on 50 questions... Man! that was like only 10% of the 500 questions! Not to mention the agony your eyes would have to suffer during the colour blind test and the numbers test where they show you a number plat and you must know what number it is. For example, they show the number QKO 3645. then you choose the number from the multiple choices in the computer A)QHO 3765 B)QKO 3645 C)QGA 3654 D)QRA 3465. However, if you get one question wrong, you are blacklisted. So, the irony...how the simplest questions can be harder than the hardest question in the questions.

After that ordeal, you would need to endure another 3 hours of workshop on the structure of the car. Another  3 hour of practical before you get the 'L' or Learning license.

Then, you get in the car..... thats what I'll be doing in a few days time..... haha(nervous)

Dream of time and space

Well, quite recently I've been having this kind of dream.... Maybe its because I read too much about Einstein and his theory. I these dream, I am able to perceive a fourth dimension along with its calculations. However, once I woke up, I will only have a faint memory of these dreams. When I am awake, I will not be able to even imagine what I have learned from the dreams I have.

In this particular dream, I am floating above city and landscapes. The breeze is blowing gently through my hair. Strangely, I landed rather softly although the ground is hard. Looking around, I saw that I have landed in a bustling city. At this point, I realized that the people are not moving at all. Cars freeze in motion. Waters splashes freeze in mid air. Dust stays in the air not moving at all. Air ripples are present everywhere. On closer inspection, the air ripples are actually electromagnetic waves, vibrations that travels at light speed through aether freeze in time.

Suddenly, time restarted again. Cars jump into action, gravity brings the water crashing down, humans move on their daily activities. As I walked around this place, I realized that the people are not aware of me. They move around like normal people would but they seem too normal. Until then, I din't realized that I was the one who is not normal. I look like a 3D character in a 2D world. Like and action figure next to a comic book character. I was out of place and weird. However, this world that I stand on, it is a 3 dimensional world. Everything can be labeled with X,Y and Z axis. So, why do I appear this way? Simple. I am now in a four dimensional form.

In this form, I can see and perceive clearly the electromagnetic waves that zoomed through the sky. There were different patterns and designs. For example, waves created by mobile phones are closely packed and are bluish purple in colour, while waves from radio stations are reddish and gigantic, covering the skies. I can see aura around people. This is due to the fact that a weak electromagnetic field is produced in their body.

In the dream, I understand multidimensional concept, time and universe. I can easily step out from one reality to another, reverse time, freeze time, touch waves, manipulate light at my will. I can distort space, create new dimensions and destroy them.

These are but dreams. Nonetheless, should I posses such powers in this world. I will be ready to use it without training. As I, Ivan have received such dreams. Such wonders that could not be written in mere words. Dreams that may not be just dreams, but another world, created by my subconscious mind. Another dimension, created by my will itself. For the dreams can be real and what is real can be a dream.

January

January is the new month in this year 2010.... well, I started to feel that I actually doing something now...

First, I started taking driving lesson. I should be able to drive in a few months time....(YES!!!)
Then, I worked as a temporary cameraman for dinners and parties of my relatives...(for free(although I wouldn't say no to ang paus))
After that, I worked as a temporary tuition teacher for my brothers.....(not paid....haiz)

at least I'm not bored now haha!!
